$100,000 POLICY LIMITS Settlement – Young Woman Rear-Ended by Driver Going 50 Miles Per Hour
Car Accident InjuriesIn September 2022, our client was traveling with her infant daughter northbound on Central Avenue near its intersection with Elmwood Avenue in Sylvania Township, Lucas County, Ohio. The car that was traveling directly behind our client failed to maintain a safe distance and rear-ended our client at approximately 50 miles per hour. The force of the collision caused our client’s car into another lane of travel, causing her to be struck by another car going approximately 50 miles per hour. The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and cited the at-fault driver for failure to maintain assured clear distance. Our client and her daughter were transported via ambulance to Toledo Hospital. Imaging at the hospital revealed that our client sustained a fractured sacrum and fractured lumbar vertebra causing injury to her spinal cord. Due to the severity of her injuries, our client remained in the hospital for four days. Once released from the hospital, our client required the use of walker, numerous follow up appointments and extensive rehabilitation. Our client contacted us to assist her with her legal recovery. Attorney Chuck Boyk and his pre-litigation team worked hard to ensure that our client got the result she deserved. We were able to secure the policy limits for our client without the need for lengthy litigation.
