RECIPE: Bootleg Big Boy Strawberry Pie
INGREDIENTS:
– 1 – 9-inch baked pie shell
– 4 cups strawberries, freshly sliced
– 1 1⁄2cups water
– 3⁄4cup granulated sugar
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 3 ounces of strawberry gelatin
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add sliced strawberries to the baked 9” pie crust.
2. In a small saucepan, mix water, sugar, and cornstarch and bring to a boil.
3. When the mixture is clear and thick, (approximately 2 minutes) remove the saucepan from the heat and add the strawberry gelatin, stirring until dissolved.
4. Pour this over the strawberries in the pie shell.
5. Chill and serve with whipped cream.
