Settlements, Verdicts & Awards

We work hard to obtain maximum compensation for our clients. Constant communication, tough negotiating and expert trial skills have resulted in us obtaining millions of dollars in settlements for the injured.

Here are just a small portion of the damages we were able to collect on behalf of our clients. Due to the confidentiality clauses in some settlement agreements, we cannot share detailed information about many of our biggest cases on our website.

$225,000 SETTLEMENT – Passenger Suffers Severe Injuries After Being Hit by a Semi-truck

This accident occurred in 2020 when our client was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling through a four-way intersection in Henry County, Ohio. At the same time, a semi-truck approached this intersection, stopped at the posted stop sign, but then continued into the intersection when our client’s vehicle had the right-of-way. The semi-truck driver’s failure to yield resulted in our client’s vehicle to collide head-on with the front passenger sign of the semi-truck. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and cited the at-fault party for failure to yield the right-of-way. Our client was transported from the scene via ambulance to a nearby hospital for her injuries. She had complaints of chest, pelvic, face, left ankle pain, and the paramedics described an “obvious deformity to her left ankle.” Our client was diagnosed with an extensive list of injuries including complex regional pain syndrome (CPRS), fracture of her left foot, post-traumatic migraine headaches, mild traumatic brain injury, insomnia, as well as other significant injuries. Our client has sought treatment for several years, and her doctors have noted that the client’s CPRS will continue to cause her difficulty with daily activities. CPRS can last a lifetime and will require consistent follow up treatment even if the client is someday able to go into remission.
The client contacted our office to help guide her through her legal recovery action. After taking depositions and an unsuccessful mediation, Attorney Charles Boyk and his litigation team were ultimately able to secure a $225,000 settlement for our client prior to the case proceeding to trial.

$200,000+ SETTLEMENT – Passenger Sustains Traumatic Brain Injury, Adding a Devastating Setback to Her Dream of Entering Vet School

Our client was a front passenger in her roommate’s vehicle when her roommate attempted to make a left turn to head eastbound. In doing so, the roommate failed to yield the right of way to a third party that was heading northbound, causing a head-on collision between the two vehicles. The local police department responded to the scene of the collision and cited our client’s roommate for her failure to yield when turning left. As a result of the collision, our client suffered numerous injuries, including post-concussion syndrome, cognitive dysfunction and other neuropsychological related injuries, which required continuous medical treatment for several years after the date of the accident.

Prior to the accident and from a young age, our client had envisioned a future filled with healing and compassion, dreaming of becoming a veterinarian. Unfortunately, because of the accident she now requires an alternate note-taking service and alternate book format due to her post concussive syndrome, headaches, blurred vision, double vision, difficulty concentrating, and slower processing. Our office hired an economist and vocational expert to prove her economic damages, stemming from her injuries that have drastically altered her ability to pursue the rigorous demands of veterinary school. After taking depositions and an unsuccessful mediation, Attorney Charles Boyk and his litigation team were ultimately able to secure a $200,000+ settlement for our client prior to the case proceeding to trial.
