Family Of Car Crash Victim Files Wrongful Death

The sons of Virginia Spalinger have filed a wrongful death suit for their mother.

Virginia was 91 when she was killed in a car accident by a police officer. The case states that officer Daniel Miller was traveling at a high and dangerous speed without his lights and siren on when he struck Virginia, who was driving her 1965 Thunderbird. Mr Miller broadsided her when she turned left in front of him. The case claims that the city was negligent because they failed to provide adequate training for police officers and also that they failed to adopt appropriate policies with regard to high speed pursuits. The suit seeks $34,000 in economic damages and $500,000 for the family’s loss.
