Welcome to Charles Boyk Law Offices: James Ferguson
James Ferguson is a new paralegal at Charles Boyk Law Offices. He primarily handles workers’ compensation cases and subrogation, which means he ensures that medical treatment resulting
from a workplace injury is paid for by workers’ compensation insurance and not our client.
James also has experience in medical summaries and research, which helps our attorneys fight disputed insurance claims. In College, he aspired to study medicine and entered the nursing program, but he later determined that it wasn’t the right career choice for him.
Instead of pursuing a career in medicine, James focused his studies on the law and enrolled in the University of Toledo’s Paralegal program. After graduation, he worked in immigration law as an
“Accredited Representative” through the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Later, James handled workers’ compensation cases for another prominent Toledo law firm.
James brought his skill and experience to Charles Boyk Law Offices in February. He says he appreciates the supportive work environment in our Holland office.
James likes consuming media and absorbing information in all formats, including online documentaries about ancient civilizations or the Cambrian era and reading science fiction, fantasy, and gothic horror. He recently finished reading Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”.
James loves music and attending concerts. You can often find him at his desk, listening to music through his headphones.
He was active in physical sports from a very young age, including wrestling and martial arts like judo, jiu jitsu, and sambo, a mixed martial arts technique he still actively practices when his schedule permits.
James is working with all of our attorneys on a variety of cases, thanks to his passion and skill at researching and gathering information. He also assists our Intake team, taking calls from new clients.
Charles Boyk Law is happy to have James Ferguson on our team, helping clients.
