Toledo Humane Society Opens Rehabilitation Center

The new Toledo Humane Society Rehabilitation Center, at 3240 Briarfield Blvd., Maumee, Ohio, represents an exciting new chapter for our organization and our community. This dedicated space will provide more room for dogs recovering from cruelty, strengthen our behavioral rehabilitation programs, and create a calmer, safer environment where animals can heal.

For years, limited space has meant some dogs could not receive the extra time and specialized care they needed. The Rehabilitation Center changes that, allowing THS to help more animals overcome fear, build confidence, and find loving homes.

The Toledo Humane Society’s commitment to pets and their families extends beyond their shelter. The Rehabilitation Center also offers low-cost training classes and a full-service Family Pet Clinic, providing wellness care, surgery, dental services, and more
at a slightly lower cost. By making quality veterinary care and behavioral help more accessible, THS helps remove financial barriers, keep pets healthy, and support families in keeping their beloved companions at home.

“The Rehabilitation Center allows us to do more for animals who have experienced difficult circumstances and need a little extra time and care,” said Sam Wolbert, the newly appointed President & CEO of the Toledo Humane Society. “But our work doesn’t stop when an animal leaves our shelter. By making veterinary care, training, and behavioral support more accessible, we can help
more families keep their pets healthy and at home where they are loved and cared for.”

As a supporting community partner of the Toledo Humane Society, Boyk Law looks forward to visiting the new Rehabilitation Center and supporting their initiatives and programs. We recently sponsored an update to one of the Toledo Humane Society’s play yards where resident animals can exercise and meet prospective adopters. Boyk Law also participated in their annual Bark in the Park event earlier this summer.

The Toledo Humane Society’s expanded facilities and programs create a stronger, more compassionate community where more pets can remain in loving homes, and every animal has the opportunity for a second chance.
