Administrator of Estate Sues for Wrongful Death, Personal Injuries and Negligence

In Court of Common Pleas of Lucas County, Ohio, our client is suing Heartland at ProMedica skilled nursing facility in Sylvania, Ohio, for the wrongful death of an 89-year-old female patient.

The deceased patient was admitted to the nursing facility after falling in her home. Later that same year, the patient suffered from another fall in her room at Heartland, where she was discovered on the floor. She was transported to the hospital and was diagnosed with an ulnar styloid fracture, a dorsal impacted distal radial fracture, and fractures of her cervical and thoracic spine. Unfortunately, the patient then passed away in hospice.

Our client is suing Heartland at ProMedica for negligence and failing to provide reasonable safety and reasonable care to the patient. Our client claims that this negligence was the cause of the patient’s death.

As a result, we are seeking a recovery for the sustained death and associated costs and losses. Our law firm has provided the client with a medical expert’s opinion on the matter, which could help to further support these claims. ‘
