Icy Roads Lead to Accident with a Snowplow
Our client was driving southbound on Gateway Boulevard in Elyria, Ohio. As she was passing through an intersection, an eastbound snowplow slid on the icy road, and went through a red light, striking our client’s car. The driver of the snowplow was cited with failure to keep reasonable control of his vehicle. Our client’s car was a total loss.
Our client suffered a shattered elbow and injuries to her back, neck, right knee, and both shoulders. Her medical treatment required two surgeries on her elbow, but she is still having issues. Our client has undergone physical therapy for her back, neck, and shoulders and will require additional physical therapy for her arm injury. There is a chance that the doctors will need to re-break her arm for it to heal properly.
After having a bad experience with a different attorney, our client reached out to Charles Boyk Law Offices for help. Chuck and his team got right to work helping our client find treatment. We are working with the liable insurance company to secure compensation for her car and medical bills. Our team will continue assisting our client through this process to ensure she receives the help she deserves.
Pedestrian Hit by Car in a Parking Garage
Our client was walking in a parking garage in downtown Toledo on her way to her office. As she began to cross the traffic way toward the elevators, she was hit by a car, knocking her to the ground and running over her legs and feet. She was taken by EMS to St. Vincent’s Hospital to treat her injuries. The accident fractured our client’s hips and her pelvis, which required surgery. She also fractured her wrist during her fall. She was later transported to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Northwest Ohio, where she received therapy after her surgeries. She now resides in Kingston Residence of Sylvania, where she will continue her rehabilitation.
Charles Boyk and his team are working diligently to help her. We are pursuing a personal injury claim against the liable party’s insurance company, as well as a workers’ compensation claim. Our firm is dedicated to helping our clients receive the compensation they are rightly owed.
Passenger Severely Injured in Car Accident
Our client was the passenger in a car heading west on W. Sylvania Avenue. They approached Secor Road and entered the left turn lane, as an eastbound vehicle was turning right onto Secor. The car our client was in failed to yield to the other driver and the two vehicles collided, pushing our client’s car onto a curb. The driver of his car was cited with a failure to yield violation.
Our client was transported by EMS to St. Anne’s Hospital. He remained in the hospital for around two weeks due to his injuries. His left ankle was fractured in three places. He required surgery on his ankle and was put into the Intensive Care Unit, where he was placed on a ventilator. Thankfully he was able to go home after two weeks and will now require strenuous physical therapy.
Attorney Zackary Shaffer and his team have been working with our client since he was in the hospital. They have already received a full policy offer from the liability insurance company and will
pursue a claim against the client’s underinsured motorist insurance company
