$300,000 Settlement – Two-Year-Old Girl Viciously Attacked by Relative’s Dog
Dog Bite InjuriesTraveling back to her home in Ohio after a fun-filled vacation at Disney World with her family, our two-year-old client’s family stopped to visit a relative at her home in Georgia. Our young client’s aunt had a dog, and while the young girl was playing with it, the dog snapped, viciously biting the girl in her face. Unfortunately, the aunt was aware that her dog had aggressive tendencies even before this happened, as this was not the first time that the dog had bitten someone.
Our client was immediately taken to the hospital and upon arrival, the extent of her injuries required that she be transferred to another hospital equipped to handle pediatric plastic surgery. The injury to her face was so extensive that she required immediate surgery, resulting in over 30 stitches to her face.
Though our client’s initial injury healed, her face was left with a permanent scar that she will have to live with for the rest of her life. The trauma to the young girl’s face was so severe that she will require expensive future treatments and surgery. Even with the treatment and extensive surgical procedures that our client will undergo, her surgeon has determined that there is nothing that can be done to completely repair her face.
Shortly after the traumatic accident occurred, our client’s parents contacted our firm to assist them in their daughter’s recovery. We were able to completely avoid the need for our clients to ever set foot into a courtroom as we were able to obtain a large settlement for our client. Our client will carry the scar from this incident with her for her entire life, but the settlement we were able to secure for her will go a long way to ensure that as she grows up, she can receive the necessary medical treatments she will now require.
