$225,000 SETTLEMENT – Group Golf Day Leads to Ankle Broken by Golf Cart
Our client was enjoying a round of golf at the Sylvania Country Club. He was with a group of friends celebrating one becoming a father. While on the course, our client was riding in the front passenger seat in a golf cart that was being driven by his friend. The friend began driving the cart erratically while looking for their golf balls, he sped the cart down a hill and turned it too sharply, causing the cart to flip upon the passenger side. The golf cart landed on our client’s ankle.
Our client called his wife, who took him immediately to Flower Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He had closed fractures in his left foot and left ankle. He dislocated a joint in his foot and had an abrasion on his elbow. He underwent surgery on his left foot and ankle to insert hardware.
Our client came to Charles Boyk Law Firm looking for assistance. Charles Boyk helped him by negotiating his settlement, getting reductions on health insurance liens, and tracking his medical bills. In the end, our client accepted a $250,000 settlement.
