Boyk Law Selects 2024 Veteran Scholarship Winner

The Ohio Personal Injury lawyers of Charles E. Boyk Law Offices, LLC has selected Juliann Seeley as the winner of the 2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship.

Juliann is a sophomore at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. “My parents were both active duty in the Army. Growing up as an Army Brat was an experience I will forever be grateful for as it gave me a number of invaluable life lessons. I hope to one day attend medical school to become an Emergency Medicine Physician, and through scholarships such as this one, I am able to work towards that goal without as much financial burden.”

Juliann qualified for the Boyk Veteran Scholarship because of her parents’ military service. In fact, both of them served in the United States Army for over twenty years.

“My parents are some of my most significant role models in life, and I strive every day to make them just as proud of me as I am of them,” says Juliann. “My parent’s dedication to the United States Army, along with the other roles that they serve, has given me a clear path toward becoming an emergency medicine physician, a career that is not easily attained.”

The Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship was created as a Thank you to all those who serve and continue to serve our country. We are committed to the servicemembers of the United States Armed Forces and supporting their continuing education. The 2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship awards $2,000 to a student currently attending an accredited college or university, who has either served in the Armed Forces or is the child, stepchild, spouse or widow of a US Veteran.

Juliann’s scholarship essay described the importance that her parents’ service and sacrifice, had on her. “Taking after my parents’ lead, I have also wanted to serve my community from a young age. It took me some time to find out exactly how I would give back to my community, but I have always known that I wanted to be in healthcare. I have found there is no better way to give back to my community than doing anything I can do to save lives. My dad served four tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia and now serves as the director of our volunteer ambulance service in Beresford, South Dakota. My dad has always been one of my most significant role models, and his dedication to emergency medicine has also sparked my passion for it. I began attending Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota last fall as a biochemistry major with a medical ethics and humanities minor with the intent to become an emergency medicine physician.”

The Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship was created to help pay for their education and encourage students to continue pursuing their educational goals. The 2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship winner was notified on Veteran’s Day, November 11th. She received a $2,000 scholarship to be used exclusively toward tuition or school-related expenses.

Thank you to all the amazing applicants to the 2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship, and congratulations to this year’s winner, Juliann Seeley! Our 2025 Veteran Scholarship will begin accepting applications soon.
