Check Your Tires: API Tire Recall

On July 8, American Pacific Industries was asked to recall their 761 Gladiator brand LT and trailer tires (ST) of various sizes because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration deemed these tires to be unsafe for road service.

Here is the brief manuscript provided by the NHTSA:

CONSEQUENCE:

The subject tires can fail unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

The defective tires have been captured and quarantined at the border and will be destroyed. Customers may contact API at 1-661-702-8801. Since all of the affected tires have been recovered, an owner notification letter will not be issued.

NOTES:

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
