Ceiling Collapses At Nursing Home, Sends Residents To Hospital

On Sunday afternoon, three residents were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the ceiling of two different nursing homes collapsed.

Both the Heartland nursing home in Waterville, and the Blakely Care Center in Bowling Green, had ceilings collapse at approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday. The Bowling Green home’s collapse is thought to have been caused by soaked insulation from a leaky pipe. The Waterville home blames the incident on a bad water pipe.

Two residents from the Blakely Care Center in Bowling Green were taken to the hospital, while one resident from the Heartland nursing home was sent to the emergency room with minor injuries.
