5-Year-OId Boy Bit By Neighbor’s Dog

A 5-year-old Canton boy was bitten by his neighbor’s dog last month, taking a chunk out of his leg.

The young boy, Jeremy Moore, was bitten on Ironwood Avenue in Canton when two juveniles were walking a dog and it pulled away from them. The dog then went after Jeremy, who was going to Ironwood Avenue at the time to play with friends.

The dog bite took a chunk out of Jeremy’s leg, deep enough to allow the bone to be seen. Following the accident, Jeremy’s mother drove him to the hospital where he received stitches and was released.

After the dog bite attack, the owner of the dog contacted 911. The dog warden was sent to the home of the dog owner and found the dog’s rabies shots to be up to date and it was quarantined to the home.

Effects of Dog Bites

Dog bites can cause not only physical injury but also mental injury. When such a young child is attacked by a dog, it can affect them for the rest of their lives.

Jeremy’s mother has stated that he will now speak with a psychologist because the sight of a dog now brings him to tears. This is an emotional effect of dog bites that many experiences; as such a traumatic event can cause victims to be fearful of all dogs.
