2 Vehicle Crash Kills Woman, Injures Man

A two-vehicle accident in Plymouth Township on Thursday morning killed a Shelby woman.

The accident happened on Ohio 61 south of Dinninger Road at around 5:30 a.m. The driver of a 1997 Honda Accord, 22-year-old Kimberly Welch, was driving northbound on Ohio 61 when her car went left of center. Welch’s vehicle then went head-on into a vehicle driven by William Funk.

After the accident, Funk was taken to Shelby MedCentral Hospital with injuries. He is listed in critical yet stable condition at the hospital.

One of the suspected factors in the crash is icy and snowy road conditions. It remains under investigation at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Welch family as they mourn the loss of their loved one. We also send well wishes to Funk as he recovers from his injuries.

Injured in Car Accident Caused by Snow

We would advise Funk’s family to contact a lawyer as soon as possible. It appears as though his injuries are rather serious and could result in pain and suffering.

One of the important things for car accident victims to do after they’ve been injured is to call a lawyer as soon as possible. There are many steps that a lawyer can help with right after the accident, allowing the family to focus on other things. By hiring a lawyer, the family would enable them to then communicate with the insurance company as they begin to contact them for things such as a quick settlement, which is not advised at all by an attorney. Rushing into a settlement also prevents the victim from receiving the full amount of money that they deserve for their injuries. It may not even cover all of the medical bills that will be accrued.

Call our office today if injured in an accident. We can review the accident with you, go over the injuries that have been sustained, and answer any questions that you may have. When calling the office, you can also request a free copy of The Ohio Accident Book which will serve as a guide throughout the legal process.
