Worker’s Arm Nearly Severed During Forklift Injury

Worker’s Arm Nearly Severed During Forklift Injury

While on the job, our client jacked up a forklift while attempting to change a tire. The forklift dropped, smashing our client’s left arm and pinning it to the ground. Attempts were made to free our client’s arm, but the forklift continued to fall back down, causing further injury. Once the forklift was successfully lifted, our client was taken to the community hospital.

Evaluating Our Client’s Damages

Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred via life-flight to another hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Our client’s left hand was almost completely severed. Two rods, sixteen screws, and one plate were installed to keep it in place. Our office is investigating whether a specific safety requirement was violated.
