$325,000 SETTLEMENT – Forklift Accident Case

Construction sites can be a dangerous place. When big machinery is used without following proper safety precautions, people may get seriously injured.

In a recent case, our client was working as a plumber on a construction site in Ohio. After a heavy rain, water had collected in a trench. Workers began using a large tool called a compactor to fix the gravel in the trench and remove water. Instead of using a safe ramp, the workers began to lower the heavy tool into the trench with chains and a backhoe

While our client was working in the trench, another worker was using the backhoe. That worker made a serious mistake and accidentally dropped a large bucket on our client’s finger. The injury was serious, and doctors had to partially remove our client’s finger.

This accident could have been avoided by following safety precautions. Companies involved denied who was in charge of the safety.

The team at Boyk was beneficial in identifying who was in charge, checking if the safety rules were broken, and making sure our client received money to pay for the costly medical bills and the time he missed at work.
