$100,000 POLICY LIMITS SETTLEMENT – Woman Parked in Parking Spot Injured When she is Rear-ended by Other Driver

In February 2021, our client was parked along North Michigan Street in Wayne County, Ohio, when a truck with a plow attached to the front, collided with the driver’s side of her vehicle. The at-fault driver stated to police that the accelerator had gotten stuck under the floor mat of the vehicle and despite pressing the brake, he was unable to stop. Due to the accident our client sustained injury to her back and she was required to undergo an invasive surgery where our client had to receive two artificial discs in her back. Following the surgery our client required numerous follow up appointments and physical therapy to rehabilitate her injuries. She experienced great pain in trying to perform her duties as a nurse and was unable to take part in the activities she once enjoyed following the accident to the same extent.

Shortly after the accident, our client reached out to our office. Our team went to work in assisting her with getting the compensation she deserved. When settling the case pre-suit was unsuccessful due to a low offer by the at-fault driver’s insurance company, we filed a lawsuit on behalf of our client. Following discovery, depositions, and a medical examination conducted by a physician hired by defense counsel, the insurance company rendered our client the policy limits of $100,000.
