$100,000.00 SETTLEMENT
Our client was a passenger in a vehicle lawfully traveling in Maumee, Ohio, when the defendant crossed the center line and struck their vehicle head-on. The collision was catastrophic: the force of impact, estimated at approximately 50 mph, caused the driver of our client’s vehicle to be killed instantly.
Our client was immediately transported by EMS for Level 1 trauma care. As a result of the crash, our client sustained serious injuries, including a fracture of the left tibial plateau with intra-articular involvement, a nondisplaced fracture of the medial fibular head, and significant knee trauma with associated swelling and bleeding within the joint (lipohemarthrosis). Additional imaging confirmed the distal femur and patella remained intact, though the patella was slightly subluxed.
These injuries caused significant pain, restricted mobility, and substantial medical expenses. Due to the severity of the crash and the clear liability of the defendant, we were able to recover the full policy limits available in connection with this accident.
