Child Hit While Crossing Street
A woman has been accused of leaving the scene of an accident after she hit a child with her car.
Miriah Gillette, 18, was driving when a group of children returning to the Boys and Girls Club from an outing were crossing the street.
Instead of waiting for them, she drove around them but hit a 6-year-old boy.
She left the scene immediately after hitting the young child.
The boy was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was tracked down by police and found at her apartment. She was arrested and charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and no insurance.
