Eve AI: Part 2 by Zac Shaffer
In our September issue of the Boyk Law Report, I wrote an article introducing a new AI software that our firm was testing out: Eve. In the last month, we have decided to move forward with Eve. The results have been nothing short of exceeding our expectations. The program continues to grow and develop in ways that will only improve our ability to assist our clients and work towards fair resolutions.
One of the first things I referenced in my earlier article was their customer service. During our initial testing phase, I primarily dealt with Tyler, a sales representative who was extremely passionate about Eve and did everything he could to help answer questions and transition our firm into Eve. But, that same mentality and accessibility transferred to our case manager once we went live. Like every other source of technology, artificial technology comes with a learning curve: for both the AI system and the user. But, Eve management continues to stay in touch and constantly works to train the user and provide every resource needed to make our firm successful.
Not only is the Eve Team top-notch, but the system itself feels like a gift that keeps on giving. From being able to identify missing records, bills, or other documents, to offering key legal insights, Eve allows attorneys and assistants alike to dig deep into cases like never before. One of the most useful skills for plaintiffs and defendants alike is the ability to find references to records in mere seconds. Even more, it offers suggestions for follow-up investigation, including questions that may not have been circulating in the great minds of those who practice law. Imagine having tens of thousands of pages of medical records. How long would it take you to review it all? What if you were able to do this in half the time? That is just a sample of what Eve offers.
While the medical review and insight is one of the top reasons Eve feels supreme, it only scratches the surface. One of my favorite features I recently discovered is Eve’s ability to create evaluations for individual cases or issues. Whether you want to identify strengths, weaknesses, pitfalls or other relevant information that needs additional evidence, Eve truly allows you to be a better advocate for your clients.
A lot of people may fear or be worried that AI is here to replace individuals. I believe that is not the case. Regardless of what area you practice, I doubt there is a single lawyer that doesn’t have more work than time. Eve, and AI in general, is not made to replace employees, but assist those employees in becoming the best version of their professional self and to help the seemingly endless work that continues to grow.
If you had the opportunity to build your practice and develop a better work-life balance, without sacrificing quality, wouldn’t you?
