$103,053 Policy Limits Settlement – Teenager Sustains Over 12 Fractures in a One Vehicle AccidentCar Accident Injuries
Our client was a back seat passenger in a vehicle that was traveling on Kiggins Road in Marion Township, Allen County, Ohio. The driver of the vehicle, another teenager, purposely swerved the vehicle in loose stone, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then went off the right side of the road, traveled into a corn field, and then hit a tree. Our client was quickly taken via ambulance to a nearby hospital. Due to her extensive injuries, she was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. It was revealed that our client sustained nine vertebral fractures, a pneumothorax, multiple rib fractures, a fractured clavicle, and a significant laceration to her lower back and pelvis. The injuries our client sustained caused a prolonged period of pain, immobility, weakness, and mental anguish. Our young client was no longer able to participate in sports or activities with her friends, which caused her to become depressed. Additionally, she began experiencing panic attacks when in the car due to the accident. Due to the severity of the vertebral fractures, our client’s doctor stated that she will eventually develop arthritis in her cervical spine. We were contacted by our client’s mother to help guide them through this difficult time. We were able to avoid the litigation process completely and were successful in settling this matter for our clients in the pre-litigation phase, all while ensuring that a satisfactory settlement result was reached for our client.
