Auto Accident Leads to Medical Malpractice Claim
Our client was traveling northbound on Wells Road in Summerfield Township, Michigan. At the same time, the at-fault driver was traveling westbound on Albain Road and failed to stop at the intersection’s posted stop sign. Our client could not stop and smashed into the other driver’s vehicle. Our client was removed from her vehicle by the jaws of life. She was transported to the hospital and was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain. Following her release, she had several follow-up appointments where she repeatedly complained to her doctors about intense pain she was experiencing in her ankle. Despite her severe pain, she was instructed to undergo physical therapy. Eventually, she was referred to an ankle specialist. She underwent an MRI, and avascular necrosis (death of bone tissue) was found. She now must undergo several surgeries to repair her ankle. Our office is pursuing a negligence action against the at-fault party and medical malpractice for misdiagnosing her ankle injury.
Intoxicated Driver Crashes into Grain Elevator, Injuring Worker
An unknown man stole a pickup truck from our client’s supervisor and drove the truck into a grain elevator where our client was working and injuring him. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the driver intoxicated and running down the street, yelling and waving his arms. EMS came and transported our client to Saint Rita’s Hospital. He was found to have bruised kidneys, a lacerated liver, and a broken pelvis. He was life-flighted to a hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Our client is currently bound to a wheelchair and faces a long road to recovery. Our office is pursuing a worker’s compensation claim and an uninsured auto claim to compensate him for his injuries.
South Toledo Intersection Accident
Our client was traveling southbound on Detroit Avenue in Toledo, Ohio. At the same time, another driver was traveling northbound on Detroit Avenue and turned into our client’s path of travel, causing the collision and totaling our client’s vehicle. Our client was taken by EMS to the hospital, where she was found to have a broken back, wrist, and arm, and received nine staples in her head. The legal definition of a person causing an accident resulting in an injury or financial loss is a tortfeasor. Our office is pursuing the collection of the tortfeasor’s policy limits for this accident.
