The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recently announced a voluntary recall of the Chefmate 6 Speed Blender, model BL-10.

This product was sold n Target stores from September 2007 to February 2011 for $14.

The hazard of this product is that while in use, the plastic pitcher can separate from the blade assembly, leaving the blade in the base and exposing rotating blades. This poses a hazard to consumers to the possibility of laceration.

So far there have been 11 reports of the blade assembly separating.

Seven of those reports have been for serious lacerations to the consumer’s fingers and hands.
