$100,000 – Pregnant Woman Suffers Injuries in Rear-End Collision on I-280
Car Accident InjuriesIn 2017, our client was riding as a passenger in a car driven by her fiancé when they were involved in a motor vehicle accident. The car our client was traveling in had slowed for an accident ahead of them. The defendant driver failed to notice traffic slowing down and rear ended the car our client was in. The defendant was issued a citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance by the Toledo Police Department.
Our client went to the hospital after the accident and was diagnosed with a strain to her cervical spine. She was several months pregnant when the accident occurred, but luckily her unborn child was not harmed in the accident. Our client was discharged from the hospital and instructed to follow up with an orthopedic doctor. Upon further testing, the orthopedic doctor confirmed that our client had suffered multiple disc bulges in her cervical spine. She underwent several rounds of steroid injections and extensive physical therapy in attempts to lessen her pain. When that did not work, our client underwent a surgical procedure to repair her injuries.
We were retained to assist our client shortly after the accident occurred. We filed suit in the Common Pleas Court of Lucas County, but through successful negotiations we avoided trial and obtained a large policy limits settlement for our client. The settlement we recovered on our client’s behalf will go a long way to account for her pain and suffering.
