Warning: Maxiloss Weight Advanced Softgels Recalled
On Tuesday, Olaax Corp. announced a voluntarily recall of the Maxiloss Weight Advanced softgels due to an undeclared ingredient. Sibutramine, a substance used for treating obesity, was taken off of the market in 2010 for safety reasons. This ingredient is found in the softgels, making them an unapproved drug.
Sibutramine has been proven to increase blood pressure, as well as pulse rate, which creates a risk for multiple conditions. These conditions include:
- Coronary artery disease
- Congestive heart failure
- Arrhythmias
- Stroke
The Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio Department of Health explained that the recall includes “ALL authentic Lot numbers and known to be counterfeit lot numbers or authentic lots. Any packaging types that are different from listed are counterfeit. Any lot numbers not listed are counterfeit and are also part of the recall.”
This product’s packaging is a green and blue box. The recalled product was sold to distributors nationwide, with counterfeit versions available on a variety of websites. Olaax Corp. asks customers to throw away their Maxiloss Weight Advances soft gels.
