Is There More Than One Kind Of Stroke?

Yes. There are different types of strokes that can occur, including the ischemic stroke, the hemorrhagic stroke, and a Transient ischemic attacks, or “mini-stroke.”

An ischemic stroke is caused by a blood clot that blocks or plugs a blood vessel in the brain.

A hemorrhagic stroke is caused by a blood vessel that breaks and bleeds into the brain.

Transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), or “mini-strokes” happens when the blood supply to the brain is briefly interrupted.
