While on a Trip to Visit Santa Clause, Family is Struck Head on by Motorist who Crossed Left of Center, Three Year Old Child Suffers Severe Injuries, Family Receives $$350,000 Settlement

In December of 2020, a Wood County, Ohio family was traveling to a local shopping center to allow their four-year old child to see Santa Clause. While in route, a driver crossed left of center hitting the traveling family head-on. The collision caused the family’s vehicle to flip, and shattered glass covered all occupants.

Particularly horrifying, was the injuries and experience suffered by the three-year old child. Separated from the parents for evaluation, the child displayed significant psychological stress, and an unknown level of physical and internal injuries. While treated and released shortly thereafter, the three-year old child continued to demonstrate injuries, including a what was eventually diagnosed as a lumbar strain, various contusions, alternating exotropia, and continued psychological stress.

Because of the extent of the injuries, and the particularly unfortunate circumstances, our attorneys viciously pursued the at-fault driver’s insurance for full policy-limits, resulting in a quickly received $350,000 settlement.
