$250,000 Settlement – Woman Suffers Multiple Severe Injuries In Auto Accident

In 2015, our client was riding as a passenger in a car when it was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle our client was riding in was traveling westbound on U.S. 20 in Toledo, Ohio when the defendant driver was driving southbound on an intersecting road. The defendant failed to yield the right of way and struck the car our client was riding in. Our client was transported by emergency medical services to an area hospital to treat her injuries. Upon arrival and assessment of her injuries, it was determined that our client’s injuries were so extensive, and she was transported via Life Flight to a hospital more equipped to handle her injuries.

At the hospital it was determined that our client suffered bilateral femur fractures, rib fractures, a spinal fracture, injury to her right kidney, a chest wall contusion, a concussion, soft tissue injuries and a traumatic loss of teeth. Once stabilized, our client was required to undergo a surgical procedure to repair her femur fractures. The invasive procedure required surgeons to place hardware to stabilize the fractures. Our client then remained hospitalized for the next nine days. From there, she was transferred to an inpatient nursing facility, where she was expected to need to stay for several months to continue recuperating from her injuries.

As a result of this horrific accident, our client was wheelchair bound for months and required extensive assistance from nursing staff. Not only did she suffer from serious physical injuries, but our client also accumulated a substantial amount of medical bills and was expected to incur more medical expenses as she was likely to need future care and medical treatments, including additional surgeries.
