$100,000 Settlement – Man Sustains Herniated Discs in Rear End Collision

In 2014, our client sustained numerous injuries when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Our client was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Airport Highway and McCord Road in Toledo, Ohio, when the defendant driver, traveling at a high rate of speed, failed to stop and rear ended our client’s car. The impact of the collision caused our client’s car to jolt forward into another car that had been stopped at the red light.  After the collision, the defendant put his car in reverse, swerved around our client’s car and sped off, leaving the scene of the accident. Luckily, our client and bystanders were able to obtain the defendant’s driver license plate number. Our client was then taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries.

At the hospital, our client was found to have sustained herniated discs in his back and a neck injury. Upon discharge, he was advised to follow up with his primary care doctor. Upon follow up, our client was instructed to seek treatment from a chiropractor and to begin physical therapy. Several months after the accident, our client was still suffering extreme pain. He had trouble walking and standing for long periods of time and was unable to perform tasks at work due to the nature of his job. Ultimately, he was required to undergo a back surgery due to his injuries from this auto accident. Unfortunately, due to the time our client was required to be off work and his inability to fully perform his duties, he was released from his job. This job loss created a significant financial strain on our client’s family while he looked for new employment.

We were contacted by our client after the accident to assist him in his recovery We initially filed suit in court on behalf of our client, however, due to a successful negotiation we avoided the need for trial as we obtained a satisfactory policy limits settlement for our client.
