In 2018, our client sustained injuries when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Our client was stopped in traffic due to a different auto accident that had occurred in front of him when the defendant driver failed to stop and rear-ended our client. After an investigation, the defendant was cited by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for failing to keep assured clear distance.
As a result of the accident, our client sustained significant injury to his neck, back, and left arm, and also suffered from debilitating headaches. He sought treatment after the accident and engaged in several months of physical therapy in the hope that his pain would subside. Unfortunately, our client continued to suffer from his injuries and eventually had to undergo surgery to have a damaged disc removed from his neck to alleviate the pain he was experiencing.
Due to his injuries, our client was unable to work for a total of six months, resulting in significant lost wages and placing a severe financial strain on our his family. Due to the severe pain he experienced, for months after the accident our client was unable to help with household duties or actively participate in his children’s lives, and this caused him to feel like a burden to his family. Our client also began to experience anxiety centered around driving and stated that the pain caused him to be extremely irritable.
We were contacted by our client shortly after the accident occurred to assist him in his recovery. Due to a successful negotiation, we obtained a policy limits settlement for our client and avoided the need for him to go through a stressful trial.
