$100,000 Settlement – 11-Year-Old Bit by Dog While on Camping Trip With Family

In 2018, our young client was staying at a campground with his family when he was attacked by a dog. While at the campground, our client had befriended another camper around the same age. As the two were playing, our client asked if he could pet his new friend’s dog. The other boy agreed, but as our client put his hand out to pet the dog, the dog lunged forward, biting our client on the lip and chin. Our client’s parents rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Upon arrival at the hospital, our client was assessed, and stitches were required to close the wounds on his lip and chin. Unfortunately, this was not the first time the defendant’s dog had bit someone. In fact, it was reported that the dog had bit a campground employee the day before our client was attacked.

While our client’s initial injury did heal, he was left with a noticeable scar that is expected to require continued follow up appointments, and it is likely that our client will have to undergo future surgical procedures in order to excise the scars. Not only will this result in future pain and suffering for our client, but it is also expected that his parents will incur a substantial amount of medical bills as a result of this necessary medical treatment.
