Although the news stations and the weather service have issued snow advisories and emergencies, some people still need to get to their destination, whether it is work, their family’s house, or college graduation ceremony.

- Slow Down!
When the roads are covered in snow, you will have to adjust your speed accordingly. If you have somewhere to be, leave extra, extra early so you aren’t rushing on the roads. Even the slightest bit of speed could cause your vehicle to spin out, or cause you to end up colliding with another vehicle.
- Keep a Clear Distance!
While we always advise keeping an assured clear distance, this takes on a whole new meaning when it comes to driving in a snow storm. Your vehicle will need extra time to come to a full stop which means that you will need to give extra space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. The last thing you want to do is rear end a vehicle.
- Clear off your Entire Car!
While there is a lot of snow that has accumulated on your vehicle during the snow storm, you should clear off the entire car.
This includes not only the windshield and windows, but also the hood and roof. If the wind blows the snow onto your windshield, you could possibly lose visibility.
Even the slightest bit of time without visibility could cause a collision.

Remember to Drive Defensively
While the above tips will help you to not cause any accidents on the snowy roads, you still must drive defensively in case other drivers are not taking the same precautions.
Also, remember that you can never put the fault of an accident on the snow.
