Personal Injury Cases: July 2014

Our office handles a variety of personal injury cases, from car accidents to premises liability. Every month we highlight cases of interest in our Boyk Bulletin newsletter as a way to allow readers to understand the different types of cases that we handle.

Below you will read about three different personal injury cases that our office recently handled.

Head-On Collision Injures Elderly Man

Our client was involved in a head-on collision that left him with severe injuries. He suffered multiple fractures in both of his wrists and required a surgical pin placement which rendered his hands temporary useless. The car accident resulted in a multi-day hospital stay for the treatment of fractured ribs, a broken collarbone, and a fractured clavicle. He will now undergo in-house rehabilitation for the injuries from the car accident and will undergo months of recovery.

Our office handles serious car accident cases like this on a regular basis and we are able to help clients receive the compensation that is deserved for the injuries sustained.

Infectious Disease Contracted at Nail Salon

Our client went to a salon for nail treatment but instead contracted an infectious disease. After a nail technician botched our client’s manicure and cut her finger, she developed MRSA, which is a staph infection. The MRSA contracted due to the botched manicure is thought to have led to the development of Secondary Reynaud’s disease, a disorder that affects the blood vessels and causes serious circulation problems in the limbs.

Our client’s nail has been removed and she is now seeing an infectious disease specialist to help her with this disease that she is now living with.

Failure to Yield Accidents Injures Father & Children

A family of three was T-boned while traveling in their pickup. The other driver failed to stop at a stop sign which caused the accident. The father was treated for deep tissue bruising that may have contributed to a leg infection, while his son spent the night in the hospital to monitor a head injury that was sustained in the car accident. The young boy needed to then wear a cervical collar and see an ophthalmologist to treat residual broken blood vessels in his eye. The sister spent multiple nights in the hospital and had to undergo surgery to repair a perforated bowel. The young girl is still recovering from her injuries.

We have dealt with numerous failure to yield accidents. They often result in serious injuries like this case above. We help car accident victims like the family above to receive compensation for the injuries and pain and suffering undergone due to someone else’s negligence.
