Family Of Cyclist Killed By Truck Files Wrongful Death

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in Columbus, Ohio for the death of 57 year-old Michelle Kazlausky. Michelle was killed last summer while participating in a bicyclist event in Hocking County. Michelle was riding along the race route when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by Ervin Blackston. Mr. Blackston claims that the brakes in the vehicle went out just before he struck Ms. Kazlausky. Apart from the wrongful death suit, Mr. Blackston was charged with vehicular manslaughter and a misdemeanor charge of equipment violation. Named in the lawsuit are Ervin Blackston and his brother who is the owner of the truck. The attorney hired by the family stated that the lawsuit is not about the money, but it is about raising awareness.
