Increase Of Fatal Crashes With Large Trucks

We have reported on accidents involving trucks many times within our blog. When a car is involved in a trucking accident, it is an unfair match, oftentimes resulting in the serious injury of those individuals in the car.

The JereBeasley Report highlighted the rise of trucking accidents through an article we wanted to highlight and share with our readers.

In the article they explain how the number of fatal crashes with large trucks is on the rise.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) most recent data supports the claim of the rise in fatal accidents. The administration’s Large Truck Crash Overview report states that the number of large trucks (those trucks that weight over 10,000 pounds) involved in fatal accidents is increasing. In 2011, 3,608 large trucks were involved in fatal crashes.

This number is a 3% increase from the year prior and a 12% increase from 2009.
