$70,000 Settlement – Woman Suffers Herniated Disks in Auto Accident
Car Accident InjuriesIn 2018, our client was traveling northbound on State Route 51 in Ottawa County, Ohio and had come to a proper stop at a posted stop sign when the defendant driver failed to notice our client, or the stop sign, and rear-ended our client’s vehicle. Our client was taken from the scene by emergency medical services to a nearby hospital to treat her injuries. The defendant was found to be at-fault and was cited for failing to maintain assured clear distance.
Upon her arrival at the hospital, our client reported that she had hit her head and remembered waking up at the scene of the accident, suggesting she suffered from loss of consciousness at the time of the accident. Our client was diagnosed with severe neck and back strain, a chest contusion, and multiple herniated disks.
After the accident, our client experienced severe continued back pain, numbness in her feet, and weakness in her legs. These symptoms caused our client several limitations and made standing, walking, and bending over very difficult. She attempted several noninvasive treatment methods, without success. When they failed to provide her any relief, she underwent a surgical procedure to remove the herniated disks in her back.
On behalf of our client, we filed a lawsuit in the Ottawa County Common Pleas Court against the defendant, but trial was successfully avoided as we were able to obtain a satisfactory settlement for our client. The settlement we were able to recover on our client’s will go a long way to account for the pain and suffering she endured.
