$200,000 Settlement – Woman Suffers Severe Ankle Fracture, Collapsed Lung, and Fractured Ribs in Head-On Collision
Car Accident InjuriesIn February 2018, our client sustained a significant injury to her ankle when she was hurt in a head-on collision. As our client was traveling northbound on State Route 231 in Seneca County, Ohio, the defendant driver was traveling southbound when he traveled left of center into the path of our client and caused a head-on collision. Our client was taken from the scene to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
At the hospital, our client was found to have suffered a cardiac contusion, a fractured ankle, fractured ribs, a collapsed lung, and numerous other contusions. To treat her collapsed lung, doctors were required to place a chest tube to remove excess fluid and air from our client’s lung. To treat her ankle injury, our client was placed in a walking cast and instructed to follow up with a podiatrist. After the accident, our client then spent the next ten months attending various follow up appointments and physical therapy in attempts to decrease the pain she was experiencing in her ankle. Unfortunately, our client’s pain did not subside, so she be physical therapy and received steroid injections in her ankle. While she did experience some gradual improvements, our client still faced continued pain that severely impacted her mobility.
On behalf of our client, we filed a lawsuit in the Seneca County Common Pleas Court against the defendant, but trial was successfully avoided as we were able to obtain a large settlement for our client during mediation.
