$250,000 POLICY LIMITS SETTLEMENT – Husband Suffers Major Injuries After Him and His Wife Are Pinned by Car That Drove Through Their Bedroom Wall

On the night of this incident our clients had gone to sleep inside of their home just like every other night. However, the husband and wife were abruptly awakened by the commotion of a vehicle, crashing into their home. The vehicle ran through the outer walls of the home and landed in the couple’s bedroom, pinning the two of them underneath the debris. During the collision, the vehicle destroyed the cedar block walls and even did damage to the home’s roof line. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and American Red Cross responded to the scene of the accident. Prior to their arrival, the driver had fled the scene of the accident. Upon observing the husband and wife’s visible injuries, the clients were transported to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. Between the two of them, the husband suffered the more serious injuries including a skull fracture, brain bleeds, a facial fracture, as well as other severe injuries. Following the accident, he was hospitalized for two weeks, went through a week of inpatient rehab, and has had numerous follow-up care appointments with different specialists. Because of the severity of his injuries, the client was also unable to work for a few months.
This case was referred to us by another attorney. Once our office started on the case and prior to litigation, Attorney Mike Bruno and his pre-litigation team were able to secure the policy limits for the husband in addition to his wife’s $15,000 settlement.
