$100,000 Settlement – Woman Suffers Extreme Injuries When Involved in Motorcycle Accident

In 2014, our client was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle when it was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The motorcycle was stopped for a red light at the intersection of U.S. 20 and State Route 15 when the defendant driver failed to stop, striking the rear of the motorcycle. The impact caused our client’s motorcycle to collide with another vehicle that was in the process of making a turn. Our client was ejected from the motorcycle and knocked unconscious. When emergency medical services arrived, our client was taken via life flight to a nearby hospital. The driver of the motorcycle unfortunately died at the scene.

At the hospital, our client was found to have suffered catastrophic injuries. She was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, brain contusion, multiple rib fractures, a right leg fracture, a left ankle fracture, a fractured pelvis, and a collapsed lung. Additionally, due to violent nature of the accident, our client was disemboweled. In attempt to save her life, our client underwent several major and extensive surgeries. Due to the severity of her injuries, our client was unconscious and in a coma for an extended period of time.  Unfortunately, our client’s injuries from the accident were so serious that she required around the clock care and will likely remain in a nursing facility for the rest of her life. This is especially tragic, as our client was only 35 years old at the time of the accident.
