More Winners in Boyk Law’s 2025 Bikes for Kids Contest
Charles Boyk Law Offices is proud to announce more winners of our 2025 Bikes for Kids Contest.
Week 4 – Rickia is 8 years old and was nominated by her father. Her family is originally from Toledo but was living in Florida when Hurricane Ian struck in late September of 2022. The devastation left them homeless and living on the streets of Kissimmee. Fortunately, they were able to return to Toledo and are trying to rebuild their lives. Rickia lost her bike with the rest of her family’s belongings. She has shown amazing resilience through all of their challenges and still excelled in school. Charles Boyk Law selected Rickia as our week 4 winner in the 2025 Bikes for Kids Contest.
Week 5 – Charles Boyk Law Offices selected three children to receive free bikes in our 17th annual Bikes for Kids
Contest. Tina is 15 years old, Sina is 13 and Shahan is 4. They are refugees from the Middle East and came to the United States in October 2024 with their mother. The family was nominated by their sponsors who have been helping them resettle in Northwest Ohio. Charles Boyk Law selected them as our week 5 winners in the 2025 Bikes for Kids Contest. Boyk Law presented each of them with a new bike, and Wersell’s Bike Shop supplied a new helmet and bike lock.
Our week 6 winners are twins, a sister named Aallyah, and a brother named Andreas. In 2023, they lost their mother suddenly to complications of a chronic illness. Charles Boyk Law Offices selected the twins to receive free bikes after they were nominated by their grandmother. She told us they spend a lot of time with their grandparents and had outgrown their old bikes.
Michael is our week 7 winner. He was nominated by his teacher at Larchmont Elementary School. She told us he is an amazing young man with a very bright future. In addition to excelling in the classroom, he is always willing to help others. Michael is part of an Aspiring Educators Program and was an amazing peer mentor to a new student who spoke very little English. He is also a dedicated and dependable member of the school’s Safety Patrol.
Charles Boyk Law is proud to recognize the amazing kids and reward them with a new bike. Boyk Law always buys the bikes from Wersell’s Bike Shop, 2860 Central Ave. They are Toledo’s oldest bike shop and are celebrating their 80th year in business. Wersell’s custom-fits each bike and generously provides helmets and bike locks for all our Bikes for Kids winners.
