Mail Carrier Hospitalized for Several Days after a Dog Attack

Our client was working as a postal carrier and was delivering mail in Swanton, Ohio.
As he was walking his normal route, a dog which was not on a leash, ran off a home’s front porch and attacked the mail carrier’s hand and chest.
He suffered multiple puncture wounds to his hand and was taken to the hospital by EMS. The wound became infected and our client was kept in the hospital for several days.
He is now pursuing a workers’ compensation claim and a separate claim against the dog owner
