Introducing Jasmine Rozsa
Jasmine Rozsa is Charles Boyk Law’s Business Operations Assistant. She worked in area banking for 11 years and has HR experience at Michigan-based manufacturing and robotics companies. Her daily job responsibilities include accounting and Human Resources.
She grew up near Tecumseh, Michigan, where she still lives with her three daughters, ages 18, 11, and 5. Her oldest daughter is a freshman at Adrian College.
Jasmine was contemplating a career change when she saw the job posting at Charles Boyk Law. “I was ready to enjoy what I did again,” she says. “I was attracted to Boyk Law’s community footprint and that it is a caring and compassionate firm with empathy for its clients. It was what I was looking for.”
Jasmine operates what she calls “a little hobby farm”. “The hobby part of the farm means the animals are essentially just pets”, says Jasmine. “I have a pig that I rescued. I rescued him and his brother from a gas station parking lot. And I have a goat, six ducks, eight chickens, a dog, and four cats.”
Her dog is a Doberman named Vincent Banjo, but Jasmine says, “He’s not office material”, so we’re unlikely to see him at Charles Boyk Law Offices.
“Maybe we can do a half day on a Friday or something? I might test the waters. He’s a good boy, but he talks like a husky does and can be very loud.” We’re all hoping to see and hear Vincent Banjo at the office.
She’s crafty too. Jasmine runs a small craft business with her mother, making crafts and signs that she calls, “porch sitters”. They include “Welcome” and other signs you might see sitting on folks’ porches. She also makes a lot of shirts and stickers. Jasmine sells them at the Tecumseh Farmer’s Market and area festivals. “We do the farmer’s market every Saturday from May to October, and then we do the Appleumpkin Festival which is an annual Fall tradition in my hometown,” says Jasmine.
Over the winter, she’ll be making things for the following season. “The season starts again in May so it’s not a very long break, and it takes time to replenish my stock,” she says. Jasmine is a big advocate for Mental Health, and she makes a lot of items to build awareness. Her high-demand items are T-shirts & hoodies.
“Mental Health is near and dear to me, not only as someone who struggled finding help for themselves, but also as someone who has lost so many people to their mental struggles, says Jasmine. “Getting help shouldn’t be hard or something to be ashamed of. Bringing awareness, the way I do lets people know I care, and I am here if they need someone to help without judgment.” She hopes the products she creates in support of Mental Health Awareness will send the message that there are people out there who care so do not to give up.” Jasmine is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management as a Workplace Mental Health Ally.
In her free time, Jasmine enjoys cooking. “I’m no chef, but I enjoy cooking from scratch like my grandma always did. Something that you kind of miss when they’re gone because it’s hard to do nowadays,” she says. “That’s why I started with my hobby farm. I eventually hope to raise the beef, pork, and veggies to live off my land.”
