Torn Rotator Cuff Requires Shoulder Surgery—Injured Driver Recovers $100,000 Insurance Policy Limits

Our client was traveling northbound on Lewis Avenue in Toledo, Ohio when she slowed for traffic ahead of her. The driver behind her failed to do the same and rear-ended her. Two days later, our client arrived at the Emergency Department of Promedica Bay Park Hospital with complaints on an ongoing headache, ringing in her head, neck pain, left shoulder pain, and left wrist pain. Our client continued to treat with her primary care physician, but her condition did not improve. After months of continuing pain, our client made the decision to undergo surgery on her left shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff and relieve the strain on her neck. She began physical therapy and received two separate cortisol injections to her left wrist to alleviate remaining discomfort. Chuck Boyk and his team of dedicated professionals were able to secure a settlement of $100,000, at policy limits, from her insurer’s uninsured motorist policy. Our client hopes to use these funds to continue her treatment and maintain her quality of life.
