Head-On Collision on Fearing Blvd Hospitalizes Parent and Infant, resulting in $100,000 Settlement

Our client and her nine-month-old child survived a terrifying head-on collision in the early hours of the morning on Fearing Boulevard. According to reports, a reckless driver traveling northbound crossed the median into oncoming traffic around 1 a.m., striking the family’s southbound car head-on.

The force of the initial crash caused a chain reaction, with a following vehicle braking hard but still slamming into the family’s car. The combined impact sent their vehicle hurtling off the road, over a curb, and into a fence. All airbags deployed in the vehicle, which was later declared a total loss.

Miraculously, the infant escaped serious injury. The parent, however, was rushed to UTMC with severe injuries, including a broken nose requiring a plastic surgeon, a punctured liver, and spinal swelling. The parent reported a loss of feeling in their feet and remained hospitalized for three days. As a working RNA, they now face a significant recovery period and lost wages.

In response to this horrific, multi-impact collision, Attorney Andrea Young and her team moved swiftly to protect our clients. We conducted a comprehensive investigation, gathering all police reports, witness statements, and critical photographic evidence of the scene and the totaled vehicle. Armed with this documentation and a detailed account of our client’s severe injuries and ongoing recovery, we prepared and submitted a powerful demand package to the at-fault driver’s insurance company.

This demand clearly outlined the undeniable liability and the profound impact on our client’s life, health, and livelihood as an RNA. Faced with the overwhelming evidence and the compelling narrative of the family’s ordeal, the insurer opted to resolve the matter without litigation. We successfully negotiated a substantial pre-litigation settlement that fully compensated our client for all medical expenses, including future care, lost wages, property loss, and the immense physical and emotional trauma endured. Attorney Andrea Young is dedicated to taking decisive action to secure the resources our clients need to rebuild their lives.
