$235,000 Settlement – Man Suffers Concussion and Ruptured Tendon When Driver Runs Stop Sign

In 2019, our client sustained serious injuries when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. As our client was traveling along State Route 235 in Wood County, Ohio, the defendant driver had been stopped at a stop sign when he failed to see our client’s vehicle approaching the intersection. He proceeded to enter the intersection instead of yielding, and collided with our client’s car. Our client was transported by emergency medical services to an area hospital to treat his injuries. An investigation proved the defendant to be at fault and he was subsequently cited for causing the accident.

After his initial evaluation at the hospital, our client was found to have sustained a left bicep tendon rupture and a concussion. Due to the nature of the injury to his bicep tendon, our client was required to undergo surgery to repair the injury. After the accident, our client also suffered from continued complications from the concussion in the form of dizziness, migraines, vertigo, and the reoccurrence of a seizure disorder.

As a result of this accident, our client experienced many limitations. He worked in a manufacturing plant, where he was required to use large and heavy tools. Upon his return to work, our client experienced loss in his grip strength and pain while preforming his duties, causing him great difficulty in completing tasks at work. Our client also faced continued vertigo and migraines, making it difficult for him to do activities that he once loved to do.

Our client reached out to our firm shortly after the accident for assistance in his recovery. Due to a successful negotiation, we were able to avoid the need for our client to undergo stressful litigation as we were able to obtain a satisfactory settlement for him. The settlement we were able to obtain for our client will go a long way to account for the injuries and losses he incurred.
