$180,000 Settlement – Woman Falls While Being Chased by Loose Dogs

In April 2020, our client was walking in a public walkway near her home when two dogs came running out of a nearby home and began barking and chasing her. Fearing for her safety, our client began running away from these dogs. As she was running away from the dogs, our client tripped and fell, causing her to land on her left hand, arm, and wrist. After our client fell, the dogs ran to a truck that was parked in the street, the owner of the truck opened the door and the dogs jumped in. The owner of the truck then proceeded to pull into the nearby home that the dogs had just previously ran out from. Not once did the owner of the truck or the dogs check to see if our client was okay. Following the incident, our client went to the emergency room which revealed fractures to her radius and ulna. Our client then followed up with an orthopedic specialist who placed her in a cast and told her she would need to undergo surgery to repair the fracture. Later, our client underwent surgical intervention. The fracture was so severe that it required the placement of hardware and a bone graft to repair the injury. Several months later, she was then required to undergo another surgery to remove the hardware. We were retained to help our client navigate the legal aspect of her injury. Due to the dedicated work of Chuck and his pre-litigation team, we were able to secure a $180,000 settlement for our client without litigation.
