$122,500 Settlement – Passenger Injured When Car Struck Head On At Stop Light
Car Accident InjuriesIn 2014, our client was riding as a passenger in a car when the car was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The car our client was in had been stopped at a stop light on Alexis Road in Toledo, Ohio when the defendant driver was coming off the I-75 off ramp. As the defendant attempted to turn onto Alexis Road, she lost control of her vehicle, causing her to hit the car our client was in head on. The impact of the accident caused our client to be knocked unconscious. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital to assess his injuries. An investigation proved the defendant to be at fault and he was subsequently cited for causing the accident.
At the hospital, our client was diagnosed with a concussion and injuries to his cervical spine and back. Due to the extent of his injuries our client was required to undergo surgery to treat his spine and back. To stabilize his cervical spine injury, our client’s surgeon placed metal hardware in our client’s neck. This caused a significant amount of scarring to his neck, leaving our client’s neck disfigured. Our client also suffered a significant amount of memory loss due to the concussion. He was unable to recall the accident and several months after the accident our client still experienced these symptoms. His memory loss was so severe at one point that he was unable to remember activities he had done or friends he had spent time with.
We were able to completely avoid the need for our client to ever set foot into a courtroom as we were able to obtain a satisfactory settlement for him. The settlement we were able to secure for our client will go a long way to account for the injuries and troubles he has incurred.
