$120,042 Settlement – Woman Rear Ended Sustains Injury to Her Wrists, Hip, and Head

In January 2019, our client was traveling on Navarre Avenue in Oregon, Lucas County, Ohio, when she approached a red light and properly stopped her vehicle. As our client was waiting for the traffic light to turn green, another driver traveling behind her failed to notice that the light was red or that traffic in front of her was stopped, causing her to rear end the car that our client was operating. The Oregon Police Department responded to the scene and cited the other driver for failure to maintain assured clear distance. Immediately after the accident, our client sought treatment at an area hospital as she was experiencing pain in her neck. Shortly after the accident our client began developing pain in her hip and both wrists. As a result of the injury to her wrists, our client was eventually diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, requiring her to undergo surgical intervention. Additionally, following the accident our client began to experience debilitating headaches that would last for multiple hours at a time that made it difficult for our client to do the things she once enjoyed doing. After nearly two years of litigation involving thorough discovery and depositions of the various parties, we were able to avoid a costly trial and were successful in settling our client’s case. Chuck Boyk and his team worked hard to ensure that our client got the compensation she deserved and was successful in obtaining a $120,042.00 settlement for our client.
