$100,000 Settlement – Pedestrian Hit By Car Sustains Fractured Pelvis and Dislocated Knee

In 2020, our client was crossing Alexis Road in Toledo, Ohio, when he was hit by a car and sustained serious injuries. Although our client was not in a designated crosswalk because there was not one at that location, he had the right of way to cross the street. Despite this, as he crossed the street, the defendant driver turned left, striking him at about 15 miles per hour. Our client was transported by emergency medical services to a nearby hospital and the defendant was cited at scene.

At the hospital, our client was diagnosed with a fractured pelvis and dislocated knee. Our client was subsequently sedated to reduce his knee injury. After an evaluation, doctors decided that no surgical intervention was necessary and that our client was to follow up with an orthopedic doctor and begin physical therapy.

Our firm was contacted just days after the accident to assist our client in his recovery. Through negotiations, we were successful in avoiding litigation and obtaining a policy limits settlement for him.
